DIY: Coloring Books

More DIY. Here is another project for you to complete. I created these activity books for the kids and the kids at heart. I got this idea from the Bona Fide Preppy Bride. Here is how you can create your own:

On the template site there are many different forms of the coloring book. Once you make the coloring book your own, make copies of it. I had Staples help me make into the booklet. Once made into a booklet, you then use a hole punch and punch holes in the side of the booklet. Then take ribbon of your choice to secure the booklet together.

Plan ahead when doing this project when it comes to the purchasing of the crayons. I had crayons from a school box in my house that I have had for years. When purchasing crayons, they are cheap around school time. You can purchase lots of boxes for about $.10-.$25 a box. This can save you money. If you can not purchase them around the beginning of the school year, check out your local dollar store. To cut cost, put three crayons in each set and tied them with a ribbon.

Thanks to the bridesmaid that assisted me with this project. It was fun and I hope that the books are fun for all that use them.

DIY: Water Bottles

I just could not let the water bottles that are going to be used at my wedding, just have the regular labels...I had to add another DIY project. I made two different water bottle labels with our monograms on them. The are really easy to do, here is what you need:
You can alter the template to look like anyway that you want. You must have a steady hand (as I found out) when cutting the labels. If you don't you will have to take the original label off so that it is not seen when you place yours on the bottle. You wrap the label around the bottle and then glue the edges together. I found that it works better when you use a glue stick instead of glue in a bottle, because it might make the label to sticky and it might stick to other bottles when you place them back in the box. Again this project is not hard, just a little time consuming. I really appreciate one of bridesmaids assisting me on completing this project. One more personalization touch for my wedding.

Internet Invitations

My broomjumpinggroom and I are both involved with our fraternity and sorority. There are several people in each of our graduate chapters that we wanted to invite to the wedding, but did not want to incur the additional expense of invitations and postage. Several of my other sorors, sorority sisters, have gotten married in the past and have sent an email tothe chapter asking for RSVP's. I have used Internet invitations in the past and thought why not use them this time. Evite is an Internet site that has several different of invitations, from bridal showers to weddings and everything in between. When you using this site you can customize your invitation, add all the information that you need your guest to know, see when your guest open the invitation and what their response is. I have gotten a good response out of this and I think that it a good way to cut cost, if your guest have Internet access.

RSVP's

The RSVPs have started to arrive. Most of the people have been stating that they will be attending the wedding. It is making it more and more real and exciting. I have received some strange responses, like one that was returned with just a pencil check mark and no name. I have decided that persons will be able to attend the wedding and when the it is time for the reception that will have to check in at the hostesses station to ensure that they have RSVP'd. I am going to allow the persons that have RSVP'd go to their assigned table first and ask persons who have not to step aside until accommodations can be made for them. I have several hostess who are tactful, but firm, who will be able to handle this, with care. What are you doing about your non-RSVP'd guest? Are you accommodating all of them or are you making other arrangements?
