Wedding Tip of the Week: MOH

Every bride has expectations of what their MOH (maid of honor) does, but does the MOH know what to do. Here is a list of some of things that your MOH can do for you for your big day.

  • Planning a bridal shower with the help of the bridesmaids.

  • Assisting the bride is picking her dress and bridesmaid dresses.

  • Making sure the bridesmaids get to their fittings and have all that they need for the big day.

  • Lending an ear when the bride needs to vent.

  • Keeping the bride sane during the wedding planning process and on the wedding day.

  • Make sure the bridesmaids know when and where they need to be for the big day.

  • During the wedding, hold the brides flowers and stand next to the bride.

  • Hold the grooms ring during the ceremony.

There are some additional things that the MOH can do but the does not have to do.

  • Dance with the best man for the first dance.

  • Be announced with the best man.

Make sure that your MOH knows her responsibilities upfront, just do not assume that she knows what to do or your expectations of her. Most of all your MOH needs to be a friend to you before, during and after your wedding.
