Flower Baskets

Every flower girl needs to have a beautiful basket to carry for her big moment down the aisle. Today's baskets vary from actual baskets to pomanders. I have not decided yet on what I am going to have my flower girl carry yet. I am not sure how important it is to me to have petals on my aisle runner. What is your flower girl carrying?

I walked as a flowergirl in a wedding last summer. The bride (aunt Sammy) put the flowers in the childrens hair, and in their dress sashes. See, we had them in a wagon because they were quite small. I've honestly never been to a wedding where I've seen children (flower girls) actually carring baskets. Something new and groovy might be in order.
-Cheers.

I don't think it's necessary to toss petals down the aisle, and many churches don't like this because of the mess it can create. I like a simple basket of flowers, or something like the last photo that you're showing. It's a more modern take on the traditional basket. ~best wishes!

Part of having a 21 year old flower girl means she wants to do all the traditional stuff like throwing petals, so I got her a simple easter basket and got some pretty fake petals.

I didn't think I wanted petals down the aisle... but now I kind of do. So, I think I'm just going to buy a basket at hobby lobby or michael's and decorate it ourselves. We're ordering LOTS of petals for decorations anyways... :)

I'm really enjoying your blog. So glad I found it!

I want a traditional basket and petals. BUT I want to decorate my own basket. My plan is to have a silk arrangement for her basket for after the ceremony and so she can keep it - I still have my basket from 22 years ago when I was the FG in my aunt's wedding.

I am stressing about this too. I am super traditional about this and really want the adorable little girl tossing the flowers! I cant decide what cant of basket to get, what color it should be, etc.
